A bit on the berserker

Kirk opined to me today that he didn't understand why the lunar authorities hadn't "found a way" to get Speth out of the city, because "she's a bomb waiting to go off."

It made me think of something that I probably haven't made very clear in game.

Please forgive the cross-genre term, but Speth is a paladin. Really.

She's a holy avenging warrioress, theoretically completely dedicated to protecting and avenging wrongs done to the earth. They're also very rare. (I think I've mentioned that by the population statistics, every single Babeester Gori is a player character.)

So what does this all mean relative to Kirk's observation? Speth is pretty safe from political repercussions as long as she stays in the good graces of the Earth Priestesses by being "what they expect" and being obedient to them.

Further, Axe Maidens are (obviously) very dangerous to attempt to control physically. But given their oath-bound natures, it is relatively easy for sneaky, motivated types to arrange a challenge that cannot be defeated. Say, the destruction of Cwim, the 100+ foot tall chaos monster that wanders the Wastes.

What does that all mean? That the only politics Speth has to worry about is that she maintain the appearance of being a good earth soldier.

Greetings,
So if Speth is an avenger of wrongs done to the Earth and the Lunars killed Orlanth, husband of Ernalda the Earth Mother, who must now sleep while her people go unprotected by her magic, then....what?
