Captives

Could someone please remind me what you did with the Thanatari captives? Who has custody, and where, if it's you?

Good Question
Greetings,
We moved ahead so quickly that the interrogation and subsequent details of the captives whereabouts are unknown to me. Can we decide post facto that the Thanatari are either at Flintnail (Mostali can claim jurisdiction) or under Rass control? I am sure the PCs would prefer to have the captives at hand for questioning, so who besides the Dwarves, would want the prisoners?

Re: Good Question
Well sure, but which one? It's important, because in the latter case you have to keep them secure.
Almost anyone interested in finding out the location of their home temple. That could be
Sor-eel
Gimgim, the head of his secret police
Jotaran Longsword the chief constable
Any Storm Bull
Any Lhankor Mhy official
Any Irripi Ontor official. (Both of these last two have significant dislike for Thanatar, since they are scholars and Thanatari are head thieves.)
I can assume you have the thanatari, and that you're interrogating them, but I think I'd like to run that on this board rather than in a live session.
torture
Garusharp- in all his spare time could sit in on the interigations to check the truth of their answers. He knows a bit about Thanatari customs and may be able to verify what they say.
There are ways to make you talk
I'm assuming we are keeping the captives at Rass Manor...Don't we have a follower of someone who specializes in interrogation and information gathering? I remember a really emotionless female in the Rass manor who was investigating the spy situtation in the household. Of course that was before we lost the 2 years heroquesting. Oshun, knowing that Asher was a Lhankor Mhy, is also in favor of bringing a scholar to the manor. But is totally against bringing Lunar scum (Irripi Ontor) to the manor. Plus we jacked an Irripi Ontor guy way back in the tunnels/cave by the green plague.

details of Abu Rass
Who takes primary responsibility for them?
Are they kept together or separate?
Where in the tower (?) are they kept?
Any fancy, special arrangements for them? Just locked in a room? Chained to a wall? What?
prisoners
Garusharp would say that they should be in constant light. They should be chained and wearing a metal bit that does not let them talk when they are alone. Of course Garusharp is a bit bias when it comes to their comfort level.
Unrelated to the main story
I'm running this entirely on this web site.
There are two captives.
Both have had limited food and water for the past week. Both have been stripped of all their possessions and held gagged and bound. They're starting to show signs of poor health for all these reasons.
It is cold, but not yet as cold as described in the last Pavis games.
One or more of you enter their cell.
What do you do? And who's there doing it?
Will & Company
Greetings,
Will wants to interrogate the prinoners separately, but in the company of others (The Mark, Speth, Oshun, etc.) in order to capitalize on different points of view and knowledge as well.
Using Will To Power (augmented by The Mark's hypnotic swaying) Will states, "Answer our questions truthfully and you will be fed and healed. Lie or remain silent and you shall die a pitiful death - your life will be wasted!"
Using know true motives (augmented by The Mark) Will asks
"Who do you worship and why?
What means did you use to access the Dwarves' temple?
Where did you come from and did you intend to return?
When you do not return on time what will happen?
How did your attempt to infiltrate the Flintnail Complex fit into your Master's plan?
What did you discover there?"
captives
Has anything happened with the captives?
happening
I hoped to get some input from the other players before continuing.
As I explained to Jon, this interrogation is an extended contest with two targets. So how you start is important.
Captives
Speth will certainly tag along if asked as long as it doesn't interfere with her preparations for the raid on the troll temple. She can stand there looking menacing or inflict pain as necessary. She would like to offer these two fellows up as a sacrifce after Wil is done doing whatever he wants. But other than their use as sacrificial lambs she has no interest in the capitives.
Captives
I think we have some bait for Zorak Zorani!
back to it
We've kind of let this slide.
Let's get back to it with some consensus on who is doing what with whose help.
Captives
Speth has a wide selection of talents that could be used in the iterogation of prisoners. But I don't have my sheet with me. As I said before, Speth is willing to be a tool in order to get information but doesn't know (or care) what questions need to be asked.
Slide Back
Greetings,
Chris is in the same situation as the rest of us. We need our character sheets in order to list the appropriate skills. Let us all take a copy with us after Monday's game so that we can slide back into action through this site. Thanks.
Jonathan
Copies
We'll make copies of everyone's sheets tonight.
Interrogation
Oshun really can't do much himself as far as interrogation. From what I understand, Zebra Riders aren't in the habit of keeping prisonsers for interoggation. he WILL though , ask his patron Ithas Resh for someone with a skill of interrogate as these thanatari were planning something in/around/against Pavis. He can also use Light powers of Joraz Kyrem to counter Darkness powers of Thanatari ( I assume Thanatari use darkness powers).
Senech, if allowed in the interrogation room, will use his Point out Flaw to shake em up. maybe. hopefully. Possibly?
Will's Contribuion
Greetings,
Will can contribute in the following ways:
interpret using Speak any language 8W (+3)
relate using Know custom 7W (+3)
observe using Awareness 4W (+2) plus Sense Nearby Gods (4W (+2) and Sense nearby spirits 3W (+2)
remember another incident using Old Pavic lore 4W (+2)
discern their hunted heads methodology using Spirit World knowledge 2W (+2)
Threaten to "give them to the trolls" using Kagrokka relationship 13 (+1)
"Let's find out what you know" using Will to power 14W (+3)
discern ulterior plans using Know true motives 18W (+4)*
see into them using Sense Darkness 7W (0+3)*
* augmented by the Markl who also has Wise at 16 (+2) and Patient at 20 (+2)
The Hero Bands also have Guardian Spirits which are usefull: Awareness: See Spirit 17 (+2) and Recognise Traitor
Blessings: Evil Eye 5W (+3) and Frightening Bite

Re: Will's Contribuion
Only if he says something in another language.
-10 because thanatari customs are entirely unlike green age customs.
plus Sense Nearby Gods (4W (+2) and Sense nearby spirits 3W (+2)
How do these last two apply?
no on Spirit Knowledge
Huh? Explain better about the will to power.
This is probably the best choice for a primary skill in interrogation, at least if Will is going to be the primary.
I started to say no, but OK, but -10 if only because you already know they are Dark.
these last are useful only if you bring a member of the Power of the Will into the process.
Since we're running this on the site, and since I've set the basics of the scene (bound, half dead, starving, gagged captives in the tower, surrounded by fires 24/7) I'm asking YOU guys to describe the scene that unfolds.
You still need to determine the primary method you'll use to interrogate and who will be present. That is--Will's Know True Motive or Rasa's Sorcery or Speth's Scare The Hell Out of Men?
You guys have to stage manage this action.
Primary Interrogator?
Greetings,
Mike already suggested that Will I Am's Know true motives 18W is probably the best choice for a useful skill in interrogation, at least if Will is going to be the primary interrogator. Does anyone else have a better skill to use? If not, then:
Know True Motives 18W +3 if any other language is spoken, +2 know Custom (with the -10), +2 Awareness, +2 Old Pavic Lore, +1 Kagrokka relationship, +2 Sense Darkness (with the -10), +3 Evil Eye, The Mark augments with +2 Wise, +2 Patient, +2 Know True Motives and +2 Sense Darkness. Without Garngar Gateguard's power or anyone else's augments Will's skill is at 1W3.
Jonathan
ACT I
Senech dressed in officiant robes (however sloppy or riddled with food stains) acts very pompously during the investigation. His sock, dressed in Lhankor Mhy regalia, harangues the prisoners throughout the process with his POINT OUT FLAW 15W. Mainly its Will-I-Am asking the thanatari a question, and then when they are silent, the Sock screaming out "AHA! SO YOU ADMIT IT?!?!?!?"
Oshun lends assistance by revealing his OMINOUS GLARE spirit (Raven Tradition) to stare down the thanatari "You cannot hide in the darkeness now chaos filth. all manners of your souls are bare to my gaze..."
