Flintnail Relieved and the Aftermath

Hi all.

Garusharp expressed his very earnest desire to get up to the frozen surface with all speed. He seems nervous.

There are a couple of thing requiring immediate answers before I can move forward:

Regarding the documents. Do you intend to

    take them without permission
    mention them, and assume permission
leave them with Ginkizzie's wounded chief aid, Proinkizzie, asking permission to take them.
Something else. There will be a roll for this, with some significant plusses.

Do you express custody of the two captured Thanatari, or leave them in the custody of Flintnail?

Giving a bit away in order to move things forward, there's a plan floated by Ginkizzie's chiefest advisors to spread the story that the Unicorn Riders had the entire responsibility for lifting the siege. They suggest that the Yelorna temple needs the PR, and that it might be best for you to keep a low profile in this.

The Important People in the Temple of Pavis will know who really was responsible, if you agree.

Garusharp:
Well it is obvious that the Mostali know how to take care of the documents...Let us leave them in their capable hands and ascend to the outside...umm, so we can see how the battle went.

Pavis

Garusharp:

Did the little creature finally die? Where did you find S'peth and why is she COMPLETELY covered in dried blood? Has anyone seen a jungle monkey with white fur or did I imagine it?

Time to speak up

If anyone has an opinion on any of the questions I raised, it's time to share it.

Otherwise I'm going to move things forward a bit.

thanatari

Garusharp:

I think that we should take the time to ask the 2 where their temple is. As long as it is in your BEAUTIFUL city you will get no peace.

I am all for making them understand the straits they are in. S'peth could I ask a kind question of you? Would you please hurt the prisoners?

Will's Response

Greetings,
Will is in total agreement that Yalornans can take all the credit for lifting the seige. As for the documents, they can be returned to their rightful owners as long as Rasa reads them first (with its eidactic memory). Will recommends that we question the prisoners along the way (their escape route) plus we should wear dark cloaks and the woven-hair-strung necklaces with the black stones that permit the wearer access to Tanulbar (past the ghost guardians).
"Then we can return the favor and raid them through their tunnels to retreive the harp string of Pavis. There is no time like the present for such a surprise attack. As it is, if they are expecting anything at all - it is the return of their expeditionary force. Let us disguise ourselves as them."
Will can be talked out of going immediately under the pretense of more careful and deliberate planning.

Khan wannabe's thoughts

Oshun:

"I have no care for the documents...I trust Will I Am's decision, be what it may."

"I believe the prisoners are ours as we...ahem...Speth captured them. Let her decide."

"The Yelornans should deservedly get a bison raid worth of praise. They did answer a call when blood had not yet even dried upon the ground. But the Faithful Lancers also answered the call and should be recognized with some mention in the annals of Pavis history." translation: the high muckety-mucks in Pavis better recognize...and Oshun makes it clear that doesn't mean the High Priest's shoe shiner.

I think Will may be of the opinion that these tunnels lead directly to Than Ulbar. Garusharp already has info that a raid like this would probably have been planned from a local temple. And Than Ulbar, even if reachable by tunnel, is over a week's ride away, deep in the worst part of the Wastes.

Everyone here has moved directly from a heroquest through several days' hard ride through frigid temps, at best a few days harried work at Adari, another hard ride ending with a series of running fights. (Except Speth, who dealt with even worse.)

Continuing on at this point requires relationship rolls for any followers.
You must resupply with food and water, at the least.
Everyone needs to roll a Tough or Enduring or some sort to push on, as well.

So what level of recognition will suit for Oshun? Keep in mind the balancing act between fame and attention from assassins intent on killing any threat to Zebra tribe pacification.

this is also a good place to mention that last game ended the third phase of the campaign. The heroes are now ready and able to step into the roles of Heroes of Pavis, something that your characcters can all anticipate and prepare for if they care to.

This roughly translates as a descent into the dark, clinging morass of horror and peril known as politics. In particular, all the Rass should be deeply concerned with the repercussions of having attacked the Marble Phalanx and the guys in black and white. Both groups returned successfully to the New City. Either group might be able to identify you and you killed members of both units.

Flintnail Relieved and the Aftermath

Speth is..pleased.. to be back with her comrades...but after being dumped from the spirit(?) world and trying to regain that hazy sense of combat in the cistern she is feeling a great need to find out how she got there and what happened to her quest. She cares not for the prisoners (she is a little shocked that they are alive) and is more concerned now that everything is sorta calmed down to getting to the surface and finding an temple of Ernalda.

"Have no fear brothers of the Rass, I will not abandon the family, but I must speak to a sister as soon as possible.." she answers to any questions about her urgency.
