food guidance

I'm motivated by some moldy cheese to offer some guidelines for food purchases. We all appreciate that everyone is good about chipping in, and the following is our attempt to make it clear what is really useful, tasty and likely to be consumed before it goes bad.

Block cheese, not grated. It lasts longer (so it makes it to the next game) and is cheaper.

Sharp or extra sharp cheddar, not mild. In the same vein, weird cheese is preferable to normal cheese.

No sugar free anything. The issue is refined white sugar, brown sugar, etc. Kirsten is much less sensitive to sugar than she used to be.

That's all for now. On the flip side, please don't be shy about requests if you have any.

can I assume that the sugar-free does not extend to Diet Coke? I planned on buying a case and don't know if you guys are all Diet-Coked out....

sodas

When it comes to soda, there are really only 3 kinds that we have in the house:

The stuff we keep on hand for our guests.
The weird things that cost about $1 each, even when bought in 6 packs.
Any of the above, that won't fit into the soda cupboard. (In other words, the third kind is just too much of the first two kinds.) The only problem with that is having a place to store it. That's why it's good to know what we have on hand before you buy. I think everyone has figured that out since the "3 cases of ginger ale" incident.:)
