Sighting one Hippogriff doesn't mean there are more or that they will mate. Careful reconnaissance can determine if there are more Hippogriffs and whether they will produce young. Again, Rasa's new headband will help "See the Scene". If there is no mate and no mating then an entirely separate quest will be needed to provide one for the lone gate guardian. That will definately require some Will-to-Hippogriff communication. Something that wasn't accomplished when we had the chance. It's hard to picture Will climbing trees and clutching a giant egg in order to be the first face the hatchling sees, but thanks to Senech, the research was found for Dragon Spine Growth's quest.
Missing the breeding season might mean there will more Hippogiffs in Pavis when the heros return to the city. Word has probably come to the Rass that an egg was spotted in a Garden nest already, but the long trek into the Wastes is the top priority now. At least the saddle should be ready by the time Oshun & Co get back.

Has a saddle been made by leather working Rass while the heros were crossiong the Waste? If not, then Will must commission one from a leather working artisan.
