Westhill Plot Hooks to cooperatively mess with each other!

OK guys!

Here's a silly exercise to inspire and confound.

It works like this. Post a not-too-specific adventure hook, character goal, listed westhill enemy plan, whatever in its own little "reply" thread below.

THEN, everyone else, add something to complicate things.

So, I might write:
Varu seeks permission to attend the Pharonic Phair in Nochet, to enter the Strongest Horse competition there...

but then Jon could add:
but there is too much stone hauling work in the newly cleared fields to spare him.

And Brian could add:
even though a jealous junior priestess says she has a vision of Pony's defeat.

and Brad might say:
while all Pony wants to do is stand stud for the mares of the tribal queen.

and Kirk offers:
yet grim faced thanes warn that the aldryami may be preparing for raiding in revenge for the Westhill clearing forest.

Nightmare Catcher

Varu has heard tale of a shaman who can banish bad dreams, who wanders the eastern foothills of the Skyreach, along the path to the dwarf city. He wants to find him on the way there or back...

OH my Goddess!

Someone else besides Varu is beset with bad dreams?

thus ignoring the warning from Evina Coinshield that the secretive Aunties of Argrath have said to beware unknowns in the Skyreach as Lunar agents have been trying to raise the Metal-Horn Minotaurs to defile Orlanthi holy sites.

Who's afraid? (Imarjon wants to know.)

Why, that's a great idea! If we can find this Shaman on our way to City of Dwarves, then I may be able to learn something about banishing bad dreams for our clan. I dreamed of a gnarly, old, bloodsucking elf and I'd rather not wake up with that vision again. Who wants to go?

So who else wants to dangle a plot hook?

Maleth and Varu

Maleth and Varu were playmates when they were young, but avoid each other now. They never speak of the fall hunting trip where the Vadrus storm surprised them, stranding them in the mountains for days. And while the clan Ring knows, they never speak of what happened to Maleth's uncle, who led the hunting trip and who did not return.

Found and Lost

Imarjon has faintly heard a scary spirit song that includes the phrase, "helpless little lambs lost on a stormy cliff tried to climb down and one fell off."

"Longbreath" told Imarjon of "Kolat - Master of wind spirits". It is something that Imarjon doesn't know enough about to be afriad of seeking Kolat.

Explaining Again

Here's how it is supposed to work:

A player of a character grabs something from his character sheet/description that hasn't gotten any attention.

Said player posts an adventure idea that focuses on that something. ("Adventure" is very broad--an adventure regarding someone's relationship to a clan member could take place entirely at a dinner in the clan hall.)

Then the other players chime in with expansions of the idea, maybe even things from their sheets that could dovetail in. Signs you're on the right track with this: Lack of the words "but/however/nevertheless" or the phrase "unbeknownst to [first character]."
In other words, don't screw, expand, complicate and colorize.
